The safety ball can drastically reduce the flow of water into the hull if the plug is forgotten, buying valuable time to react to the situation.

The plug is now always secured next to the drain when the boat is out of the water– no more buying spare plugs or delays getting into the water!

The plug has a handle portion, this allows for a good seal but prevents ”over-torquing” which can break the garboard drain sealant!

It is the ONLY drain safety available that will not impact rainwater drainage. All competitor products significantly reduce the cross-sectional area of the drain which leads to clogs (leaves, seaweed, etc.)

Product Details
Plug Pads for Drains with Threaded 1/2″ (NPT) Plugs: Available in an adhesive mounted version or a screw mounted version. Multiple materials (Bronze, 316 SS, etc.) are offered to suit various environments. The screw mounted version is designed to attach to the standard garboard drain with existing holes which are ~1.3″ apart center to center. The drain screw holes must be aligned so that the bracket can be mounted horizontally above the drain hole.

Since the garboard drain can be oriented in different ways (screw hole locations) and non-standard hole layouts exist , an adhesive mounted version was developed. The adhesive version can be used with any drain orientation and non-standard drains but cannot be mounted on boats with anti-fouling paint (unless the paint is removed in the area above the drain).

Plug Pads for Drains with Expandable 1″ Rubber Plugs: The plug pad will work on boats with drain holes that are flush with the hull and on boats where a ¼” lip is present around the drain hole. The adhesive backing will not adhere to anti-fouling paint. The adhesive is an industrial strength adhesive from 3M which has been rigorously tested, including passing a 10 year submersion test in 5% salt water!
